Who you talk to

When you reach out through this site, you talk to an independent provider in our network. You are not talking to a Tipdeveloped Tree Service crew, because we do not have one. Tipdeveloped Tree Service makes the introduction. The provider answers your questions, looks at the job and gives you a written quote. We do not list names here because the right provider depends on where you live and what the tree needs.

What happens on the call

Expect a short, friendly chat. The provider will usually ask:

  • Where is the tree, and how close is it to the house, wires or fences?
  • How big is it, and does it look dead, split or leaning?
  • Did a storm cause the damage, and is anything blocked?
  • Is there a stump you want ground down?

Photos help. A site visit often follows for larger jobs. Some storm jobs move fast, so providers may ask about safety first, such as downed lines or a limb resting on the roof. Stay back and keep others away. Request a callback to check provider availability.

What to ask a provider

  • Can I have a written quote that lists everything included?
  • Does the price cover cleanup and hauling away the wood?
  • Do you carry insurance, and can you tell me about it?
  • Are any permits needed for this tree?
  • How will you protect the lawn, the roof and any buried lines?
  • When can you do the work, and what could change that schedule?
  • What upkeep do you suggest afterward?

Know your options

A provider might suggest removal, pruning or a wait-and-watch plan. Ask for the reasons behind each one. For stumps, ask about grinding depth and what happens to the chips. For storm damage, ask what can be made safe first and what can wait.

You are in control

You choose whether to move ahead. Asking questions or getting a second quote is normal. Requesting an estimate carries no obligation. Do not sign anything you do not understand, and do not pay for work that has not been agreed in writing. Keep your quote, your photos and the date of the visit in one place. They are handy for upkeep later and for an insurance claim.
